ScanRev allows you to edit your images from the Indexing or Search screen. You may want to highlight a part of the text or image to draw attention to it, or redact sensitive parts of the document for security or privacy reasons. You may want to annotate or place comments on the document as references or reminders for yourself or other users who will see the document. Or you may just want to correct the orientation of the scanned or uploaded image by rotating it.

All of this (and more) is possible through the dropdown menu of the Distribute icon on your ScanRev toolbar. Annotations created in the Indexing screen are retained in the Search screen view.

  • Selecting the image you want to edit:
    • If you are editing a document directly on the Indexing screen, check that the image you want to edit is selected. Clicking anywhere on the image will select it, and the selected image will show a ‘Split Images icon’ on its top right corner.
    • If you wish to edit an existing document from your repositories, locate it through the Search function. Open it by pressing Enter on the selected result or by clicking on the icon in the Pages column of the result. Select the image you want to edit, as in 1.a. above.

  • Rotating the selected image: Go to Distribute and select Rotate left (counter-clockwise) or Rotate right (clockwise). The image will be rotated accordingly by 90º.
